Many times people wonder "Why would someone want to use a limousine? Isn't a luxury vehicle basically going to offer the same things?" These are some very good questions and I'll be talking about some basic reasons people tend to prefer limos and some more advanced reasons.
Luxury and comfort: A town car, no matter how great or sharp it looks, will always be a car. The size of it will be very specific and the features to it very common. In other words it doesn't look impressive for the people watching it arrive at an event from the outside. So image is one good reason to want to use a limousine. You probably can catch yourself being surprised when suddenly a beautiful white limousine pulls up in front of you, while you are driving. You get that very exciting feeling and sense of "hey, I would like to be in that limo."
Being on time: Many of the customers we have served, were people that wanted a drop off at some meeting or some venue and just didn't trust a taxi to do that for them. When you call a cab, they can delay very much, or may be very busy for that day etc. So deciding to call a limousine company, will ensure that you are driven to your location that very moment. I know that in our company, we come right away to get you, and take you to the meeting. So a limousine, although can be considered a luxury mean of transportation, it can also serve as a practical mean of transportation.
Long distance, not worth it to use a taxi: This ties in to what was said above, only in this case using a limo service can be cheaper sometimes than calling a cab. It may sound as a stretch, but considering the luxury you'll get and the price that they'll offer you (depending on the limo business) it will be way more worth it. Especially if you call during a weekday where things are generally slower for limousine owners, you should be able to get a discount price for your drop off. Also, you don't need to select the most expensive company.
It's an experience you'll love: Once in your lifetime, you need to get inside a limo. It's really something unique, and just the feeling of being in one, is exciting. You don't necessarily need to go to some specific place. You can do a simple wine tour which will also provide you with the opportunity to taste different local wines along with some yummy snacks. Good company is always better for such occasions. So try to get your friends in a limo with you, and drive around the city.
Are these reasons enough? Do you need more? Let us know!
In this post, my goal will be to give you some basic ideas of the kind of things you should be looking out for, when looking to rent a limousine. Unfortunately, there are many companies and limousine owners that either try to trick the general public by providing lower quality services, or are too lazy to be professional and excellent at what they do.
The good thing is that there are certain giveaways that can protect you (if you have your ears and eyes open.)
Listen to the person answering the phone
This may sound obvious, but say you are on a search for a limousine. Occasion doesn't matter: could be wedding, corporate events or a pick up and drop off. If the guy answering the phone sounds like he just woke up from his sleep (and you indeed didn't call 3 am in the morning), move on to next company. It doesn't mean that he/she doesn't have good intentions or is necessarily a bad person. But if the guy on the other end isn't willing to put on a happy voice and he helpful, how do you think he will treat your occasion? Probably not so good, right?
Observing the conversation on the phone can also serve for another purpose: figuring out if the guy is actually the owner or has any relation to the limousine industry. What I mean by that is that there are many people who take calls but don't actually own limousine companies. They take the calls and after you hang up, forward the business to someone they are working with. They get a commission off the deal and you may end up with a limousine that hasn't been serviced since Noah's days.
Piggy banking on the initial suggestion, I also want to add that understanding - knowing clearly the available vehicles for your day will give you an idea of awareness. Is he in control of this business and employees? If not...move on!
Ask for an upfront view of the limousine or luxury vehicle to be used on occasion day
A good business owner that is proud of his fleet, will even offer to text you a couple of photos of the vehicles. But if you want to be 100% sure you are getting what you pay for, go visit their location and see for yourself the kind of vehicles in the fleet. You wont believe how many customers have come up to me explaining horror stories in which they received a limousine very old, with a funny interior smell or an impolite driver. If your occasion is going to be expensive and you want to get a bang for your buck, sign a contract with the limousine company. A successful and proud limousine owner will urge you to sign some kind of legal form to make sure you are happy with the end result.
Not to brag or anything, but we have the newest vehicles in our fleet and with over 20 years of experience, we haven't had a single accident! Ask your provider for an accident statistic report.
Check out their reviews and client satisfaction history
This is an easy one, and if you aren't watching out for those reviews and satisfied clients, then you are setting yourself up for disaster. Places to go find reviews include Google, Facebook and any other place mentioning their service quality. Compare them all, and come up with your best pick.
